Keele Karate Club was awarded the Cath Barnett shield for being the Athletic Union club that most represented itself nationally and international during 2011-12.

The Keele karate club hosted international Winter School in 2011 and travelled to many other national courses throughout 2011 and 2012. In recognition of the club’s high degree of international representation the Cath Barnett shield was presented to its members at the Spring AU ball, 2012.
