Welcome to the website of the Leeds Karate-do Shotokai (KDS) group.

The club is an affiliated staff club at Leeds University and trains at the Edge Sports Centre on a Tuesday and Saturday. The club is open to all Edge users and all Leeds University staff and post-graduate students.

Karate-Do Shotokai is a traditional karate style which focuses purely on the practice of karate as a martial art without the distraction of competitions or commercialism.

Our approach is based upon the use of a relaxed body condition. Strength and size are not important as the power comes from applying the correct body condition, timing and technique.

New members are always welcome, regardless of fitness level or previous experience.
